Sue Wickison’s flower pictures go far beyond
prettiness. In the past few months they have earned a silver medal from
the Royal Horticultural Society in Britain and been stored for
acquisition by Kew Gardens in London. Click HERE to read more.
Solo exhibition, the Savill Garden, Windsor Great Park, England Sue
was invited to showcase her work on New Zealand Native plants to
coincide with the opening of the New Zealand Garden at the Savill
Garden in Windsor Great Park, England in April 2007.
New Zealand Plant Conservation Network - June 2007
Sue was commissioned to paint an
illustration from herbarium specimens of an extinct New Zealand
mistletoe, Trilepidea adamsii, for the New Zealand Plant Conservation Network.
This painting is being used to heighten the
awareness of native flora and is to be used for the Individual
Conservation Achievement Award which is given each year to recognise
excellence in the field of plant conservation. View article and images.
Royal Horticultural Society Show - Award
Exhibiting at the Royal Horticultural Society show
in November 2006, Sue was awarded a silver medal for the eight large
paintings of New Zealand native plants.
Solo exhibition - New Zealand House, London (2.11 MB pdf file)
See Sue's latest work, which showed at New Zealand
House in October/November 2006. Most of the new paintings show
endangered New Zealand native plants and Sue hopes that her new focus
will help to raise the awareness of their plight in the wild. Note: if
